Winter in St. Anton
St Anton features a colossal backdrop of peaks and popular mountains, it also has all the comforts you would expect from an international holiday resort. With 60 to 80 sunny days throughout the winter season and guaranteed snow until at least the end of April, St Anton offers the very best for a winter holiday.
There are 306 kilometers of marked ski runs, which are superbly maintained.
A total of 88 state-of-the-art cable cars and liftsoffer the highest standard of safety and comfort. Another pioneering feature is the ARLBERG-CARD, a reusable high-tech ski pass which automatically opens the ski-lift entrances.
Thanks to the Flexenbahn and Trittkopfbahnen I and II as well as the Albonabahn II, since the start of the season 2016/17 all ski resorts of the Arlberg can be reached on skis. Ski Arlberg is Austria’s largest interconnected ski area, making it one of the world’s top five ski resorts.
With slopes for all ability levels, there are 200 km of off-piste and challenging steep slopes and deep-snow ski runs, snowboard fun parks, carving areas, permanent racing circuits and numerous cosy meeting places ensure variety and enjoyment.
For Snowboarders, the St Anton Park has established itself as true freestyle highlight in the past years.
St. Anton am Arlberg is now also considered a destination for cross-country skiers. Tyrol awarded the 40-kilometre-long network of trails the quality seal for cross-country skiing.
It is not just the pistes and cross-country trails which are popular in St. Anton am Arlberg. For winter hikers or for people who just like to treat themselves to a few contemplative and relaxing hours, there are paths – cleared and marked – which lead the way out into the snow-covered mountains.
